Women Ifta (Giving a Fatwa) and authority

Expressing rulings and narrating narrations is a well-established tradition among knowledgeable women and a number of them have received permission to do so from their teachers. This tradition existed during the time of the presence of the infallibles and people such as Fatimah al-Zahra and Zaynab bint Ali have been in the position of narrators of hadith and commentators of the Quran and have expressed the rules.
