Based on the report by the Public Relations Office of the Women and Family Research Center, the opening ceremony of the National Conference of Gender and Family in the View of Allameh Tabatabaei was held on Thursday, 23rd Feb. 2017 in the management center of Women’s Seminary. The conference was attended by Ayatollah Fayyathi, head of the board of directors, Supreme Assembly of Islamic Philosophy; Hojjatoleslam Jamshidi, dean of the Women’s Seminaries; Hojjatoleslam Zibaeinejad, director of the Women and Family Research Center; and instructors and students of the seminary schools.
After the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem of the Islamic Republic, Hojjatoleslam Zibaeinejad, director of the Women and Family Research Center briefed on the efforts of Allameh Tabatabaei in theorizing women and family issues. In the next stage, Mrs Fariba Alasvand, the scientific editor of the conference, introduced a number of articles and papers that were submitted to the conference.
Ayatollah Fayyathi, head of the board of directors of the Supreme Assembly of the Islamic Philosophy, then, lectured on the subject of “Reasoning in the Quran to Quran Method”.
Subsequently, professional social sciences, analytical historical, and philosophic-theological panels were held in the morning, and jurisprudence, legal, and philosophic-theological panels in the afternoon. In each panel, commentators of various fields presented their views.
The closing panel of the National Conference of Gender and Family in the View of Allameh Tabatabaei was held in the evening with the presence of Hojjatuleslam Parsania, member of the Supreme Assembly of the Cultural Revolution, Dr Alireza Shojaei Zand, and Dr Mohammad Taghi Karami, on the subject of the interaction of theology and theory--making in Gender Studies.
The scientific achievements of the Conference of Gender and Family in the View of Allameh Tabatabaei will be published next year and articles will be available for those interested.
This Conference was initiated in the September 2017 and began to receive papers following the due processes. 81 articles were received from different cities, of which 36 abstracts were accepted and 16 articles entered the final stage.
One of the major steps in every conference is ordering articles to the researchers of the field. The secretariat of the present conference, in the same manner, received 17 articles from women studies scholars who are focused on gender studies.
Hojjatuleslams Mohammad Taghi Sobhani, Zibaeinejad, Alviri, Mahdavi Rad, Bahjatpour, Mahrizi, Parsania, Ardestani, Azarbaijani, Berenjkar, Dehghan, Hekmatnia, Hossein Bostan, Karami, and ladies Alamulhuda, and Farahmandpour were the members of the scientific board of the conference.
